  In the city center of São Brás de Alportel. Authentic Portuguese cuisine, specializing in charcoal-grilled chicken. Be sure to try the house-specialty chicken and squid.
• Ysconderijo (€€€€): 
  A small, cozy restaurant in the historic district of São Brás. Exquisite Portuguese fusion cuisine featuring fresh fish and meat.
• Tachinho da Avó Luísa (€€): 
  Local cuisine on the main street leading to São Brás.
• Moss – Fresh food & Coffee (€€): 
  Mainly vegetarian dishes. Nice lunch specials.
• The Owl – Meeresfrüchte & Cocktail Bar (€€€): 
  Here, it’s all about seafood.

• Horta (€€): 
  On the road to Tavira. Traditional Portuguese cuisine for lunch and dinner. Lots of locals.
• Circular (€€): 
  Open only for lunch. Vegetarian dishes.

Mealhas – 10-minute drive.

• Beira Serra (€€): 
  A typical Portuguese restaurant in the countryside near Mealhas. Very good quality.

Moncarapacho – Distance by car: 20 min.

• Da Ana Restaurante & Snack Bar (€€€): 
  In the center of Moncarapacho, near the church. Authentic Portuguese cuisine. The best Porco Preto.

Loulé – Distance by car: 20 min.

• Aurora von Vitor Veloso (€€€€): 
  Traditional Portuguese and international dishes, including vegetarian options. Excellent cuisine. Prices are slightly higher than at a typical Portuguese restaurant, but much cheaper than at Michelin-starred restaurants of the same caliber.
• Restaurante 11 da Villa (€€€):
  A very charmingly decorated restaurant in the heart of Loulé. Inside, the restaurant features a stunning vaulted ceiling. It also has a beautiful outdoor terrace. A creative and excellent selection of tapas made with local fish, meat, and vegetables. Highly recommended! Be sure to make a reservation in advance.

Olhão – Entfernung mit dem Auto 30 min.

• Tasca O Galo (€€):

Fuseta –Distance by car: 30 min.

• Café dos Mestres (€€€): 
  The best fish and seafood, straight from the grill on the main street. Best enjoyed as part of a day trip to Fuseta Island. Be sure to make a reservation in advance if you’re heading to the island.
• Casa Corvo (€€€):
  A traditional seafood restaurant at the harbor and fish market in Fuseta. Fresh fish straight off the grill. Excellent. The turbot, which serves up to four people (depending on size), comes highly recommended. Reservations are not accepted. It’s best to arrive right at 6:30 p.m. to secure a table. This makes for a great combination with a prior trip to the island off Fuseta.

Ilha do Farol – Travel time by car: 30 min., plus boat ride

• Maramais (€€): 
  Extensive cocktail menu and homemade sandwiches. Be sure to bring cash. No credit cards or MBWay accepted. If you’re taking a day trip to Ilha do Farol, you should stop here for a drink and lunch.

Parque Natural da Ria Formosa (Praia do Barril) – Distance by car: 30 min.

• Os Fialhos (€€€): 
  Where to even begin—the view from the outdoor terrace is beautiful. The selection of seafood and fish is huge, and everything is fresh. The view, combined with the high quality and freshness of the food, makes for a wonderful experience. It’s the perfect complement to a trip to Praia do Barril.

Tavira – Distance by car: 30 min.

• Gilão (€€): 
  Excellent food at reasonable prices. Very friendly and prompt service. If you sit outside, you have a beautiful view of the river.

Santa Luzia – Distance by car: 30 min.

• Casa do Polvo Tasquinha (€€€): 
  A beautiful beach setting with fishing boats along the shore. Fresh seafood, perfectly prepared using creative recipes. Specializes in octopus.

Almancil – Distance by car: 30 min.

• Botânico (€€€€): 
  Are you looking for a special evening in the Algarve? Spectacular food, the best margaritas, a beautiful atmosphere, and friendly staff. The Iberian pork chops and steaks are fantastic.

Faro – Distance by car: 30 min.

• A tasca do João (€€€): 
  Near the Algarve Regional Museum. Discover new flavors of Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine. Excellent tapas.
• À do Pinto (€€€): 
  The latest from Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine. Delicious pan-seared octopus, fantastic garlic shrimp, and flavorful cod. The cataplana is especially recommended.
• Taberna Zé-Zé (€€€): 
  Taberna Zé-Zé offers its guests the chance to sample Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine. Here you’ll find delicious shrimp, mussels, and razor clams.
• Pigs and Cows (€€€): 
  If you like French and Portuguese cuisine, Pigs and Cows is worth a visit. They serve well-cooked beef and a great ceviche.
• Outro Lado (€€€): 
  Here, you’ll find Portuguese and vegetarian cuisine. At this restaurant, you can enjoy perfectly prepared soups, tofu, and vegan burgers.

Praia de Faro – Distance by car: 35 min.

• Zé Maria (€€€): 
  Mediterranean and Portuguese cuisine—including delicious tuna, squid, and monkfish. And all of this with a great view of the sea.
• Sal‘Mare (€€€): 
  A cool beach restaurant with a wide variety of seafood and meat dishes (steak, burgers). Limited vegetarian options. Perfect for during or after a day at the beach in Faro.
